The Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a ten day to two week program combining a mixture of training in the pool and classroom. With academic modules presented by yourself.
The course is split into two sections:
PADI Assistant Instructor
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor
Once you have successfully completed the IDC (AI and OWSI) you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination (IE) for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Instructor Preparation Course
The Instructor Development Prep Course prepares you for the IDC refreshing dive theory as well as skill and rescue Assessments.
Prerequisites:
PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization
Be at least 18 years old, logged 60dives (including night,deep,and navigation), been a certified diver for at least 6 months, proof of CPR/First aid training within the last 24 months, proof of a Medical examination within the last 12 months

Assistant Instructor Course
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI IDC.
After completion AI's are qualified to teach the classroom portion of all PADI courses and some in water teaching.
Prerequisites:
PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization
Be at least 18 years old, logged 60dives (including night,deep,and navigation), been a certified diver for at least 6 months, proof of CPR/First aid training within the last 24 months, proof of a Medical examination within the last 12 months

Open Water Scuba Instructor Course
The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor program is your final step in the quest to become a PADI Instructor.
You will learn how to teach in the classroom, pool and open water environments.
Prerequisites:
PADI Assistant Instructor certification or be an instructor in good standing with another training organisation for at least six months.
Hold a dive certification for at least six months.
Have 100 logged dives that include night, deep and navigation dives.
Proof of CPR training within the last 24 months.
Medical clearance.
Duration: 9 days to complete
Once you have successfully completed the AI and OWSI you will need to participate in an Instructor Examination for approximately 2 days before becoming an Open Water Scuba Instructor.

PADI Instructor Development Course
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI IDC.
The IDC consists of the Assistant Instructor Course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor Course.
AI course completion also qualifies candidates to participate in an OWSI program.
After completion AI's are qualified to teach the classroom portion of all PADI courses and some in water teaching.
During the IDC, you'll learn to use and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs.
You will learn how to teach in the classroom, pool and open water environments.
PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.
Prerequisites:
PADI Divemaster rating or qualifying certification from another certification organization.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have 60 logged dives, including night, deep, and navigation dives.
Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months.
Have proof of CPR/First aid training within the last 24 months.
Have proof of a Medical examination within the last 12 months.

Emergency First Instructor + Care for Children
This course takes one day and enables the instructor to teach the Emergency First Response Course + Care for Children in Rescue and Divemaster education.
Prerequisite: You must be 18 years old and have completed adult, child and infant CPR and first aid training in the past 24 months or a be a practicing medical professional such as a physician, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic and Registered Nurse.

Meet our friendly Course Director Ute Welker who has not only a vast experience in diving but has been teaching in Thailand since 1991. Ute is one of the most experienced Course Directors located in Maldives.
Ute's Advice on how you can prepare for your IDC
- Make sure you keep your divemaster theory up to date
- Complete all knowledge reviews in the candiate workbook before the IDC

- Bring all your previous diving certifications
- Three passport size photos are required for the course
