Felidhoo Atoll
Located close to Male the boat shapped group of scattered islands of Felidhoo Atoll remain considerably undeveloped. The atoll comprises of both unihabitated and inhabitated islands. Most important along the bottom of this wonderful atoll is the longest unbroken reef in the Maldives.
It stretches fro 55km (34 miles) from Hurahu Kandu to the east and Rakeedhoo Kandu on the atoll's othern tip.
Felidhoo is worth a visit. During the northeast monsson season the water is flushed free from plankton leaving crystal clear waters ideal for checking out the sharks that can be seen here. At the same time the plankton current sweeps towards the west side, providing the perfect feeding ground for mantas and whale sharks.
